DBA 24: Macedonia vs Persia
Bob & I played another DBA 24 game, this time with 15mm Essex miniatures and using an Alexandrian Macedonian army (II/12) vs a Later Achaemenid Persian army (II/7), a fictitious battle set around 334BC. The orders of battle are as follows:
Alexander (CinC) & Companions (3Kn) x 2
Light Horse (LH) x 2
Hypaspists (4Ax) x 2
Psiloi (Ps) x 2
Unable to counter due to lack of command points, the Macedonians launch a full assault on the Persian left.
Parmenio and the remaining Thessalians manage to destroy a Persian cavalry element. They are still in harms way.

First DBA Game of 2021
Bob & I had our first game of 2021, playing DBA 3.0 in 15mm with our Essex miniatures. Bob used a Lysimachid army (II/17) while I used an Early Seleucid army (II/19a). Both armies were historical opponents commanded by successors of Alexander the Great. Bob's army was beautifully painted by another friend, Al. My Seleucids were painted around 1991, and had an acceptable paint job for the game.

Obscure Battles: Marengo 1800
On the Obscure Battles Blog, Jeff Berry has followed up his article on the Battle of Hohenlinden with an article on the famous battle earlier the same year that cemented Napoleon's hold on power, Marengo. While Marengo is not necessarily an "obscure" battle, Jeff Berry's take on it is. Another winning and very interesting article for Napoleonic fans. The link to the article is here: http://obscurebattles.blogspot.com/2020/11/marengo-1800.html
